Your photos never leave your device

No uploading, no account, no tracking, no ads, no cookies. A photo says a lot: who is in it, where it was taken. That is why nobody sees it but you.

Everything in your browser

Cropping, resizing, converting, blurring, a watermark, a collage, a passport photo or a favicon: everything runs on the computing power of your own device. Your photos do not go to a server, ours or anyone else’s. What you download is created by your browser itself.

Automatic cut-out: what does come in

To remove the background, your browser fetches a calculation file once (4.6 or 6.6 MB) from Hugging Face, a public library for files like these. That is a download to you, like a font: your photo does not go with it. Like any web server, Hugging Face sees your IP address and the time. Your browser keeps the file, so it is not needed again next time.

What your browser remembers

Your preferences (light or dark, Reading comfort) and the calculation file for automatic cut-out, in your own browser’s storage. No photos: they disappear as soon as you close the page.

Metadata

A photo can contain hidden data, such as the place where it was taken. With Remove metadata you first see what is in it and then take it out. When you resize, convert or edit, your browser creates a new file that no longer contains that data.

Technical logs

Like any web server, our hosting provider keeps short technical logs (such as the IP address and time of a page visit) to keep the site running safely. They contain no photos. We do not use those logs to track visitors.
